Statement from Senator Leone in Response to Profanity-Laced Email in Opposition to Tolls

HARTFORD, CT – Today, State Senator Carlo Leone (D-Stamford) released the following statement in response to a profanity-laced email from an individual opposed to using revenue from tolls to improve our state’s roads.

“Rhetoric and language like what was in this email is a prime example of what is dividing our nation and state,” said Sen. Leone. “Telling anyone to “catch cancer and die,” or any of the other disgusting, vile things this individual said in this email is beyond counterproductive. It is hate-filled, mean-spirited and wrong. Disagreement in a professional manner with sound, thoughtful arguments is always welcome. This language however, is not.”

The email came after the Transportation Committee, a committee Sen. Leone is chair of, passed three toll bills.
